Classification of hard alloy alloys
Oct 16, 2023
① Tungsten cobalt hard alloy
The main components are tungsten carbide (WC) and binder cobalt (Co).
Its brand name is composed of "YG" (the initial Chinese pinyin of "hard and cobalt") and the percentage of average cobalt content.
For example, YG8 represents an average WCo of 8%, with the rest being tungsten carbide based tungsten cobalt hard alloys.
General tungsten cobalt alloys are mainly used for hard alloy cutting tools, molds, and geological and mineral products.
② Tungsten titanium cobalt hard alloys
The main components are tungsten carbide, titanium carbide (TiC), and cobalt. Its brand name consists of "YT" (the initial Chinese pinyin for "hard and titanium") and the average content of titanium carbide.
For example, YT15 represents an average TiC of 15%, while the rest are tungsten titanium cobalt hard alloys with tungsten carbide and cobalt content.
③ Tungsten titanium tantalum (niobium) based hard alloys
The main components are tungsten carbide, titanium carbide, tantalum carbide (or niobium carbide), and cobalt. This type of hard alloy is also known as universal hard alloy or universal hard alloy.
Its brand name is composed of "YW" (the first two Chinese pinyin characters of "hard" and "ten thousand") followed by a sequential number, such as YW1.
