Performance characteristics of hard alloys

Oct 14, 2023

High hardness (86-93HRA, equivalent to 69-81HRC);
Good thermal hardness (up to 900-1000 ℃, maintained at 60HRC);
Good wear resistance.
Hard alloy cutting tools have a cutting speed 4-7 times higher than high-speed steel, and a tool life 5-80 times longer. Manufacturing molds and measuring tools, with a lifespan 20-150 times longer than alloy tool steel. Able to cut hard materials of around 50HRC.
However, hard alloys have high brittleness and cannot be machined, making it difficult to produce complex overall cutting tools. Therefore, they are often made into blades of different shapes and installed on the tool body or mold using methods such as welding, bonding, and mechanical clamping.
